Jupiter Artland, "Stone Coppice"

In Badger Wood, Andy Goldsworthy has placed granite boulders into coppiced trees which are cradled by the outstreched trunks. Like all coppiced woods the trees will be tended and the installations will be carefully managed. In time (15-20 years) the artist envisages that further stones may be added. It will be fascinating to observe the changes to this place over time as the granite boulders get lifted and rearranged by the trees.

"A living, growing, changing sculpture in which people and wood play equally important roles."
